Does my team have the skills to move to the cloud?

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” — Nelson Mandela

Stephen Orban's article caught my eye when they stated - "Every executive and company has their own unique set of challenges, but they all share the need to equip their staff with the skills that will help them move toward their future aspirations."

He reiterates the need for education and communication.  The journey to the cloud can be shared by tapping into the knowledge of your existing team and by discussing it with partners in industry.  Cloud is not a new technology but rather a change to how the delivery of services are being offered.

One obvious way to increase knowledge in cloud services, such as AWS, would be to get hands on training.  Stephen identifies this fact and recommends that leaders provide their teams with a chance to do a time bound activity to get exposed to what it truly means to use cloud services.

The key takeaways are:

Executive leadership drives success in the cloud

Invest in your existing teams

Get hands-on training
